I’m genuinely surprised that Taylor Swift didn’t get magically pap’d on Saturday, just so there would be new photos ahead of the Emmys. Maybe she’s waiting for tonight, you know? Maybe she’s waiting to show up “unexpectedly” at the Emmys just so she can “surprise” Tom Hiddleston. That’s what the Daily Mirror/Daily Star suggests – their source claims Taylor’s name still appears on some guest list somewhere, and now “his pals” hope that she does the decent thing (?) and stays home.

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston could come face-to-face for the first time after their messy split at the Emmys on Sunday night. The former couple, who went public in June after Taylor’s split from boyfriend of one-year Calvin Harris, broke up earlier this month and since then it’s got quite messy. It will be a big night for Tom, who is up for the Best Actor award for his part in hit drama The Night Manager. But now it’s been claimed that Taylor is also on the guest list for the Emmys and his pals are allegedly hoping that the night is not spoiled by the former couple running into each other.

“Taylor is still on the guest list. But everyone on Team Tom is hoping and praying she’ll do the decent thing and stay at home and watch it on TV for his sake,” a source told Daily Star Sunday. “He is still shellshocked over their split and just setting eyes on her could send him into a tailspin.”

It has been claimed that the Emmys team are working hard to make sure the pair stay clear of each other.

Taylor’s actually won an Emmy before, but I don’t think she’s ever attended an Emmy telecast, so why would she start this year, the year when her latest ex-boyfriend is up for some big awards? I don’t think Taylor is like that. Say what you will about the Snake Emoji, but she’s not usually that upfront about her stalking, you know?

Two more things – one, Taylor did want to get some attention this weekend, which is why she announced a $50,000 donation to Ascension Public Schools in Louisiana. She also donated to a local food bank and Salvation Army chapter in Louisiana, and her giving likely exceeds the initial $1 million pledge she made in the wake of the Louisiana floods. It’s completely amazing she’s doing such high-profile donations. Period, end of story. Of course, it’s also completely amazing that her donations are announced at some really critical moments in the gossip cycle.

Last thing… Tom Hiddleston is probably going to present at the Emmys with Priyanka Chopra. There’s a photo of the two of them laughing together and now people are like “Is Hiddles getting with an Indian lady?” As an Indian lady, I hope Tom does go for an Indian girl, just because it would be good for morale. I doubt it’s happening though.
